Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy with roots in psychoanalysis. This therapy provides the framework for exploring early childhood experiences, interpersonal relationships, communication patterns, and struggles with one’s sense of self that may be contributing to intense suffering. This nuanced approach can be helpful for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, identity and self-esteem struggles, relationship problems, and life transitions. This often involves slowing down, exploring thoughts and feelings, and learning new ways of thinking and being. The goal is to develop a more accepting self-experience, increase emotional insight, and enrich relationships in order to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
